I am so sorry for your loss. I am assuming here that your Mother had a Last Will and Testament in place, correct? How does the WIll read? Does it read that you inherit the home (house) itself and the land it sits on? Then one would assume that you inherit all of the building on the land as well. If you Mother subdivided the land for inheritance then there would be a different outcome here. Good luck to you.
