What rights do I have if I just got fired from my job for posting a comment on Facebook?
The comment was, “I hope I don’t crash”. I wrote this because we had that bad snowstorm. I have made mistakes there and offered to pay for pizza that I messed up on but my boss said “Nah don’,t worry about it”. Before I got hired I told my boss that if I started at 4, I might be a little late because my wife gets done with work at 3:45. Yet I got yelled at. I as called names by my boss, had a pizza tossed at my feet and my shoes were covered in sauce. I believe as former employee I have rights. Can anyone help me?

All employment is employment at will: that means that an employer can fire an employee for essentially any reason that is not unlawful discrimination. The main forms of unlawful discrimination are based on race, religion, sex, disability and age over 40; if you feel you were actually fired due to one of these reasons, and believe you can prove it, you may have an employment discrimination claim. Otherwise, you could most likely be legally fired for a comment you made, and you would not have any recourse.
