Yes. Lying on report to the police is a crime. Lying in regards to an insurance claim is also a crime as well as a civil tort, or wrong, for which you can be sued. Speak with an attorney in detail about the situation, but it may well be that you are better off accepting the ticket rather than opening up this can of worms.
