If my ex-husband is suppose to give me alimony every week but is 3 weeks behind and has been inconsistent with payments for months, how long be he is in contempt of court?

The court's usually don't looking at contempt until someone is more than 30 days behind.  This doesn't mean that you can't file for contempt right now... but your effort would be better utilized by waiting until he is at least thirty days behind before seeking enforcement.
