His parents are okay with me staying over.

Okay.  I know that this is going to sound really stupid in this day and age but if you and your boyfriend re sleeping together he could get in to a lot of trouble.  And if your parents want to they can make trouble for him which ultimately will get his parents in to trouble.  Now, if his parents want to put you in separate rooms and vouch for you, that is another story.   I know that is is hard at 17 when you really ar on the threshold of adult hood, but legally you are still a minor and you need to be concerned for him and his future.  Good luck to you.
