What to do if I’m thinking of starting up a weekend business where I would go on beer runs for people?

The theory behind this idea is to stop people from drinking and driving. I was wondering if I decide to provide this service if I would be liable for their actions? Of course I would check ID’s prior to going to the store to provide them with the alcohol.

based upon what you have written about, your business idea seems reasonable. I suggest you consult with a business lawyer to draw up some contract or order form to be signed by your customers with appropriate disclaimers and disclosures to be filled in by them. You seemingly would not be responsible for the actions of adult customers.
