What to do if I signed a rental lease for 6 months at $1200 per month but after I arrived the landlady claims she was not told there would be 3 peopleso she increased the rent to $1500?
I told her we could not pay that and then she told us we had to leave then, which we did. However, she gave us nothing in writing. She was dealing with a rental agency and this was all done by her not the agent. Can she sue us for the 5 remaining months since she is the one who asked us to leave?

I would first read the presumed written lease agreement that you have in that its terms and conditions control the matter that you are writing about in that most likely your answer will be in it.
If the lease does not limit the number of people in the unit then the local zoning requirement for such controls. Given the fact that your landlord essentially ended your lease then she should not prevail in any legal matter particularly since she has an obligation to rent out the unit to another party.
