If I was driving my friend’s car because he was to drunk to drive but I backed into a wall and scratched it, who is responsible for the damage?

I was the only sober one.

If you were negligent, or careless, in backing into the wall--which is most likely the case; almost by definition, it is negligent or careless to hit a large, stationary objecvt, like a wall--then, unfortunately, you would be liable, or responsible for the damage. It doesn't matter that hour friend could not drive; what matters is that, whatever the reason you were driving, you appear to have driven negligently.
