I am so sorry for your loss. As the Executor of the estate you have the power to "marshal" assets, meaning that you have the right to gather then to inventory the estate and distribute accoring to the Will. So if it was taken from the estate with out any claim of right you can do what is reasonably necessary to get it back. Do not have anyone break the law. Good luck.
