if I let someone who is on probation use my handgun, can I get into any trouble?

I went on a hunting trip this past weekend with a group of friends. One of the guys I had only met once prior to the trip but we had talked before hand and everyone had been hunting before. The new guy had an accidental discharge and shot himself in the leg with my handgun. I didn’t think anything of it by letting him use my gun because he brought his own. It turns out that this guy might be on probation. Should I be worried about repercussions towards me and my friends?

Yes. Under the laws of many states in this country if you allow a person who you know is on probation use a firearm and a problem arises due to the firearm there is a chance that you could be charged with aiding and abetting in a crime.
