Can I take legal action against a travel agent company if my employment and wages are being threatened based upon a survey that has no bearing on my work?
I work for a online travel agent company who uses customer surveys to grade its employees. If a guest submits a survey that is negative and it’s about the hotel stay and not related to my service, it is still graded and counts against me, even though I have no way of preventing the hotel’s action.

The fact is that most employment is what is known as "at Will", so a company can set the terms and conditions of employment much as it sees fit. This includes how much salary to pay an employee and the mechanism used for doing computing it (i.e. the survey). So while seemingly unfair, your employer is breaking no laws. The only protection here would be if company policy, or the terms of a union agreement or employment contract were being violated. Also, your treatment must not constitute some form of actionable discrimination. Absent that, this system is legal.
