if employee hurts themselves at a clients home
I employ several dog walkers and they get a 1099 at
end of year.
I carry insurance to cover clients home and animals.
Owever my question is if they get hurt on clients
property from a slip and fall or anything can they sue
the homeowner.
if yes how can I avoid that if it that ever arises.

They can sue the client if the client was at fault in some way, such as by creating a dangerous condition or failing to rectify a known dangerous condition. You can't stop 1099 contractors from suing a 3rd party, including a client, if they want and have grounds.
