If I am employed in the state of NH but work for a company based in MA, am I entitled to know why I was let go without notice?
I worked for a company based in MA in a
subsidiary company in NH. Being in NH, I
understand someone can be terminated
without reason but if the company that let
me go was in MA, do I have a right to
know?

Unless you have been given the right to know the reason for your termination under the terms of an employment contract or union agreement, then you need not be informed as to the reason. This is known as "at will" employment. Basically, absent some form of legally actionable discrimination, a company can set the conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit. Bottom line, a worker can be dismissed for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice.
