Yes, if you have two jobs, one employer may call the other to see if you are working. There is no law whatsoever preventing calling up an employer to see if an employee is working. The employer who is called does not have to share that information, but the first employer may certainly call and ask.
Moreover, while disclosure of this information is not required, it is not prohibited, either. Your employer is also free to tell the other employer, if he/she chooses, your hours, shifts, etc. Unless there is some contract or agreement requiring confidentiality or nondisclosure, any employer is free to disclose this information to another person or employer.
