As an owner in a business you have the right to remove equipment since you own an interest in it. As such, what was removed was not per se a criminal act assuming you had permission from your partners to do so. However, if you did not have permission to remove the item that you removed which was partnership property, what you did could be considered "theft," a criminal act and possibly a civil tort.
