Unfortunately, while you can certainly apply for unemployment benefits, if your employer contests them, you will most likely be denied them. That is because a worker is not eligible for unemployment compensation if fired "for cause"---and being poor attendence is cause for termination and is therefore considered a "for cause" firing.
