Typically, in such a case you will be treated as a month-to-month tenant. Accordingly you need to be given a 30 day notice. If you fail to vacate by that time, your "landlord" can file for an unlawful detainer (i.e. eviction lawsuit) in court. Once a judge issues a writ of possession, then your landlord can have a sheriff physically remove if necessary.
