if I sell my house can I still collect on a pending insurance claim

my house is for sell and a tree trimming company cut down a tree in my front yard without my permission. I filed a claim through the company’s insurance which has not been finalized. If I sell my house can I still collect on the settlement?

Yes, if the damage happened while you owned the home, the claim and the proceeds from it are still yours, regardless of whether you later sell the home post-damage or post-claim. The only exception would be if you assigned the claim to the buyer as part of the deal (e.g. basically gave or sold him the rights to the claim and the proceeds).
