Whether a license is suspended for a DUI depends on the laws in the state in which you are arrested (and that punishment will typically follow back to your home state). While many jurisdictions will suspend a driver’s license for a first time DUI, some will hold off suspending a license until a second or third DUI arrest. Others do not issue a driver's license suspension for the DUI arrest itself, but rather for what you do during the offense I.e. refusing a breath test).
