If you are let go and have unused acquired PTO hours, is the company legally obligated to pay them out?
I read that it depends on company policy as well as your states laws regarding such. Georgia has no PTO/vacation pay laws and I can’t find any written policies regarding PTO payouts online or in the company employee handbook. Am I even able to take action?

In GA, whether an employer pays an employee for earned but unused vacation time at the time upon their dperture, it is strictly a matter of company policy. There is no state law that requires vacation time or PTO be paid out. This is true whether or not the worker quits or is fired.
