Usually after a person is indicted by the grand jury of a particular county, that person is then arrested under an arrest warrant. Once the person is arrested, he or she is typically arraigned as soon as possible, usually within a couple of days depending upon whether or not bail is posted or not. An arraignment is when the court reads the charges against the accused and the accused then enters his or her plea to the charges.
In all criminal matters, I recommend that the defendant retain a criminal defense attorney to represent him or her in the proceedings.
