Is a seat belt ticket a traffic conviction?

On my job application they asked for traffic
convictions. I didnt put anything but then
realized a few days after i had a seat belt ticket
i pleaded guilty too. Does this count as a traffic
conviction? Will they think i lied and tried to
hide it?

A seat belt violation is generally considered a traffic conviction.  However, you could argue that it is not since it wasn't really a "moving violation."  Most of the time, employers are asking for moving violations so as to be able to assess any potential risks.
With that being said, however, you may want to update your application or at least ask the HR department for clarification to see exactly what they consider a "traffic conviction".  In the end, it's their definition that will control...not necessarily any, generally accepted "legal definitions."
