is it illegal to be removed from the board of directors during the sale of a company without your knowledge?
I was VP of the Board of Directors. At some point, I was removed, without knowledge, and replaced with
a son in law. Is this legal? Do I have any recourse?

It if legal if a majority of the shareholders voted to remove you: a majority of the ownership of a corporation have the right to set the board of directors, and to vote people either to the board or vote them off the board. Prior notice, etc. is not necessary.
