I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. As outrageous as it sounds, they may be able to do this to the extent that it does not violate privacy laws. At will employees can be fired for good bad or no reason at all. therefore, if the employees do not agree, the employer can fire them on the spot. Not sure if they want to risk this, but they will. I do not think that the baby monitors are appropriate, but, employers can require them to know their presence during working hours.
