Is it legal for me to record audio in my employee’s office?

I’m a part of an IL. based trucking corporation with an office in MN. We have a suspicion that the employee that manages our MN office is stealing money and customers from us. Is it legal to put an audio recording device in her office and possibly company owned phone?

Some states require all parties to a conversation to agree to its being recorded, others require at least 1 party to consent. Therefore, either way, if you secretly record a conversation with getting at least the permission of one of the parties to it, then that would be illegal act.
