Is it legal to sell event tickets for more that the price you paid for them?

I have 2 front row tickets that I purchased for a show at a theater, face value $75 per ticket. I’ve seen them selling for as high as $400 per ticket. I can’t make the show now and I want to sell them, however I don’t want to do anything illegal. I would like to make a profit, though. I’ve read different opinions on ticket scalping and whether it’s legal or not.

Different states, countries and townships have different laws regarding "scalping" of tickets. In order to be sure that you are not breaking the laws of the town and state where you plan on selling the tickets I suggest that you contact the County counsel's or city attorney's office for an answer to your question.
