Is it ok to travel immediately after getting your permanent resident card?
I just got my U.S. permanent residence card last week. I need to travel out to Canada today for a over the weekend trip. Is the immediate travel an issue?

Yes, it is safe to travel if you have been issued a green card. It is your document for reentry to the US after international travel. Make sure that if you travel anywhere where a visa is required based on your country of citizenship, you first secure the necessary visa since the green card does not substitute a visa to enter a different country.
