Is it unlawful to ask doctors to refer patients to your service?

As experts in the field of Social Security disability, we are able to determine if a case can be made for a favorable outcome, and we represent our clients through out the entire adjudication process. We would like to partner with medical facilities. This partnership would mean that they (with the consent of the patient) will refer their patients to our services to evaluate their potential of receiving their disability benefits.

There is nothing unethical or unlawful for you or some other person in a similar occupation to ask physicians or others in the health care field to refer patients to you.

From a practical standpoint I would not be so bold to ask for referrals per se but simply suggest that all referrals would be welcome assuming the person you are speaking with is somewhat comfortable in referring patients over to you.

However, ethical considerations could manifest itself if items of value are exchanged to the physician as a thank you for the referral.
