Isa personentitled to compensation if they lived with someone for 7 years?
I have been financially supported by the man I lived with for 7 years and he wants to end our relationship and financial help. I have cancer and am covered under his insurance but will need to work for living expenses. I’m not sure I can do that at this point in my treatment.

I am so sorry for your situation here and your health concerns. I hope that things turn out for the best. Now, I am a bit confused a to how you were placed on this guy's health insurance plan if you are not married. Louisianan doe not recognize civil unions or common law marriage so the nexus that is necessary for you to be able to be considered a covered person is missing. Nor does Louisiana recognize palimony as far as I can tell and from what I have read. So I would consider speaking with some one as soon as you can on the matter here. This situation does not add up. Good luck.
