Is the sponsor of 80 year old man responsible for a hospital bill?
An elder man (84 years) was sponsored by his son. He got his green card 2 weeks ago but before he applies for the SSN the man was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Though he is eligible for Medicare (over 65 years), his son was not able to get him the SSN because he is not able to appear in person to the office because of his critical condition and could not get him the Medicare as well to cover the expenses. Who is responsible of the hospital bill in case the old man passes away?

A son is not normally responsible for his parent's medical bills. The son should not be liable for them unless the son signed something (such as paperwork on admission) by which he agreed to assume liability or responsibilty for his father's bills; if he did, such an agreement is enforceable.
