Is there a maximum number of hours worked in a week

In South Carolina, my husband has been required to work up to 18 hours a day.
They have hired more people but my husband has a work ethic and when the other
managers aren’t coming in for emergencies he does. He falls asleep just sitting
down for a minute. He gets 3 hours of sleep each night. He can work up to 7 days
a week. THey are taking advantage of him. I work in north carolina where you have
to have 8 hours between shifts and no more than a certain number of hours worked
in a period of time for fatigue. Is there anything like that in South Carolina?

Unfortuantely, South Carolina does not appear to generally regulate maximum hours worked or minimum number of hours between shifts; in SC, an employee can be scheudled to work 24/7/365. (There may be exceptions for certain individual jobs, like in transportation.)
Your husband can be required to keep up this punishing schedule. He may need to look for other employment.
