Is there anything we should do now to prevent a nursing home from taking our property if we get sick?
My wife has long term policy but I was denied. We are both OK now but I am 83 and she is 79.

I'm not sure I understand your question. I don't know on what basis a nursing home would be legally entitled to take property from you. I suggest you either provide more information or consult with a local elder law attorney who can review your situation.
