I’ve been separated from my wife for 7 years. She lives in Georgia and I live in Ohio. How do I end the marriage?

I want to apply for social security benefits and not be married. I imagine I’m
still considered legally married even after not living together for 7 years and
we are not in the same state. What should I do?
Thanks,
Barry

So yes, you are correct, you are still legally married.  You can file for divorce in Ohio if you meet the residency requirements for filing - lived there 6 months prior to filing. She has to be personally served in the other state.  If you have any marital assets that need to be split I would consult with an attorney as well.  Good luck.
