Job Abandonment
I walked off my job today as a Director of Nursing. I did however hand in my Notice of Resignation effective today, my phone, my badge, and my keys. My boss was verbally harassing me in front of the department heads. Is this considered job abandonment?

It is resignation. You resigned three different ways: by walking off the job; by handing in your phone, badge, and keys; and with a resignation letter. (You can resign, or show your intention to quit employment, by actions as well as by words.) You would be considered to have resigned (or abandoned, if you prefer that term) your job when you did the first of these three things.
