The way how a child's parents decide which school the child attends is usually decided per an agreement between the parents with respect to the situation you are writing about. If the parents cannot decide this issue then the parents go to mediation to try and agree and if not, the court makes a decision based upon input from the minor child assuming he or she is above thirteen (13) years of age.
