Can ex force me to sell my house to pay alimony?
My ex awarded alimony. The company that employed me was bought out last year and my position was terminated. I’ve applied to court for reduced alimony.

It is entirely possible that if you are unable to keep up with the spousal support (alimony payments) awarded against you and there is a subsequent judgment against you for back support, your "ex" could record an abstract on your home for the judgment and have a sheriff's sale of it. From a practical matter I have never seen such happen. But then again, I have no idea how vindictive your "ex" may be.
