If the check was received within the stated "grace period" per the presumed demand for payment letter to you then you should have your policy reinstated. If not, then by state statute your life insurance policy is terminated. I suggest that you consult with an insurance attorney about your matter further and/or make a complaint with your state's department of insurance about what transpired.
