Under the laws of all states in this country, you as a tenant are required to provide your landlord with keys for access to your rental for safety and emergency purposes. However, under the laws of all states in this country, your landlord cannot legally come to your rental at odd times. He or she must give reasonable notice of coming onto the rental which is typically at least 24 hours notice.
