What to do if my boss makes a few of us come back at night for an hour 1-3 times a week?

They only pay us for the hour we’re there. Is that legal? That’s in top of the 50 hours we already work.

Your employer may make you work any number of hours (and can make you come back to work after having left), unless you have an employment contract to the contrary. If you are an hourly employee, you must be paid for all hours you work, including overtime for all hours over 40 in a work week--but your employer does not have to pay you for your travel time or inconvenience.
