If my ex-wife wants copies of our last 4 years tax returns, do I have to give them to her?

She’s in financial trouble and won’t say what’s she’s using it for. I don’t care if she puts herself further in debt but I’m concerned about what she’s using my personal tax information for. I’m sure I’m not liable for whatever scam or other venture she gets into but I don’t like having my personal tax returns given to whatever entity she’s dealing with. Is there some way I can legally force her to disclose what she’s using my tax information for? We were divorced 4 months ago.

Under the laws of all states in this country you are required to provide your "ex" with all requested tax returns that pertain to her. As a safeguard you may want to redact your social security number. I would also request in writing reasons for the requested documents as well.
