Your recourse is to sue: your ex-boss is obligated to pay your last paycheck (you must be paid for all work done) and to also reimburse you for things purchased for work with your employer's consent, instruction, or permission. If the amount owed is less than the maximum limit for your small claims court, suing in small claims, acting as your own attorney ("pro se") is a good option.
