If my fiance has been a permanent resident for 7 years and is applying for a citizenship, how long will it take?

I am an international student and I’m getting married to my fiance soon. I want to apply for a green card once I am married and I want to know when the best time would be to get it in a fast manner? In addition, I am going back to my home country this summer and I wanted to know if getting into this process could risk coming back to this country as I have to renew my student visa this summer?

It is currently taking about 3-5 months from start to finish for the US naturalization.  As soon as your fiance is naturalized, he cna apply for you as a fiancee or a spouse, depending on what your relationship will be then.  HOwever, if there is a petition on your behalf, you may not be permitted to enter the US as a student since that status does not allow for immigrant intent.
