when questioned in an investigation or for any reason by the police you have the right to say nothing or to cooperate. Basically you seem to be being questioned as a witness not a suspect. you can choose to cooperate or not. you also have the right to an attorney if you feel you may benefit from one being present.
when a person is arrested they are read the Miranda warning basically explaining the right to remain silent, have an attorney etc. Because you are a friendly witness at this point you aren't read those rights but your rights are on the same page.
as to what you should do i cannot answer that. if you know something you should be honest you of course can choose not to speak but don't lie because that is when you will get yourself into trouble
