What are my rights to a house that my husband’s grandmother bought us?

My husband and I have been married for 12 years. Last year his grandmother bought us a home. It is still in her name. Things have been rocky for awhile and wants me to move. I cannot afford to move, plus i love this house. Does he have a legal right to “evict” me? What are my rights? Can I legally stay? Also,I pay half the bills right now and when he was out of work all winter I paid them all.

If title to the home that you and your husband are occupying then you and your husband technically are tenants. As such, absent some tenant agreement between the two of you, your husband has no right under the laws of the states in this country to evict you.

You can legally stay in the home until the grandmother decides to evict you.
