If my husband gave away my puppy, what can I do to get it back?

He regret doing it and asked the people to return the puppy. They said no. All I have is a receipt showing that I paid 500 to the previous owner. What can I do legally?

You can't do anything legally. If you were married when you bought the puppy, he was an owner of the puppy, too. As an owner, he could legally gift or give it to someone else. The person who gets a gift from someone who own's property is not required to return it.
