If my husband has over 30K in credit card debt which he accumulated before we got married, am I liable for any of it?
We want to file a joint petition for divorce. Does my husband have to provide some sort of written statement that he’s the only one responsible for his debt or we just check “No community debt to divide” in the divorce paperwork?

You are not legally responsible for debt incurred prior to the marriage (just as in general you are not legally entitled to an asset acquired prior to the marriage). But I would not bank on that so to speak. I would enter in to marital divorce agreement and spell out in the paperwork that you both sign that this was a debt incurred prior to marriage and is NOT community debt. Good luck.
