The first payment is past due. There was a written contract to the deal drawn up by purchasers lawyer. Where is the best place to start on getting our money?

First, make a request for timely payment as per the purchase agreement and promissory note that I would assume you have. Second, check into their whereabouts and assets that they have. Third, if you do not get a timely payment, contact an attorney in your area as soon as possible...these matters tend not to get better in time.
