You should consult with a criminal defense attorney as to the protocol in getting the felony expunged, the costs and the chances of success. Not all motions are granted. The court looks to see what the crime was, how long ago it happened, what the person has done with his or her life since the conviction and the reasons for the request.
Ordinarily the courts like to see at least 5 to 7 years post conviction before the expungement request is filed.
