You are liable for the accident because you are the registered owner of the vehicle.

You will need to sue your nephew for negligence to recover the property damage (cost of repairs) to your car or the value of the car if it was a total loss.

If your nephew is a minor, it would be advisable to sue his parents on the above claim.
