If my school says no one can have a piercing or tattoo, is this legal and is there any possible way to fight it?

If you are talking about a public school (e.g. high school), they can require you to take out visible piercings (as part of putting out a dress code) but cannot deny you an adjudication for having a tatoo--though they could require you to cover up (e.g. long sleeves) any tatoo which could be covered up.

If it's a private school, however, they likely can simply bar tatoos and piercings entirely, and refuse to matriculate, suspend, or expel students who have them.
